The Big Move

As previously mentioned, my wife and I have embarked on quite the little adventure and recently emigrated to sunny Venezuela! For my wife, it's a huge opportunity to start a career in the foreign service. For me, it's an altogether different career opportunity!

You see, this move has given me the courage and opportunity to strike out on my own and truly become an independent game developer. I've participated in game jams and done hobby projects before, but for the first time in my life I'll be working on a personal game project full time.

What to do With All this Time?

That's a good question! I've decided to use the opportunity to not only make a video game, but to make it, largely, on my own which is something I haven't done since high school. I've learned so much from working with so many talented folks both at work and outside work, but there's so much more to learn!

I will be announcing the game I intend to work on for the foreseeable future in an upcoming post as well as describe the lessons I hope to learn along the way. I hope to keep everyone well informed of my progress here on the blog and on various game community sites around the internet.
